This blog is ‘do follow’

I hate that ‘no follow’ tag. I think it ruins the whole spirit of the Internet and the blogosphere. I mean, there are zillions of blogs online and most of them are ‘no follow’ by default (Wordpress for example). How are people supposed to get backlinks naturally now? Enabling ‘do follow’ by default only encourage webmasters to use non-natural link building techniques like submitting to directories, buying links, etc. Anyway, the point is that my blog is now ‘do follow’, but comments are still moderated.

I don’t mind giving people backlinks. In fact, giving backlinks to people will get you backlinks too in the end. So there you go, feel free to comment with your website URL, it’s a +1 backlink. Also, feel free to spread the word this blog is do follow! ;)

I so agree with you, I have a do-follow blog as well and it really is a great community move, I don’t understand the stinginess out there, everyone is so afraid of losing link juice….pleeeaaase!!!

I will add you to my do-follow list on my blog.

This is a great subject and I recently have run into several blogs that claim to offer a do-follow BUT then they have restrictions, like you can only leave your first name and no keyword or site names in the name section of comments??? WTF is that? What’s the point? Either offer a do-follow or don’t, why would I want to link my blog with my first name? So irritating.

    Good content here, just subscribed!

    Thanks,
    JR

It strikes me that the people who shout the loudest about not using keywords in the name field, tend to be people who would use their name as the keyword anyway. I agree that it seems a bit ridiculous to offer link love and not allow keywords - for most people, what is the point of that?

I personally use the KeywordLuv plug in where you ensure you get both a name and keywords for the commenter and only the keywords are linked to the website/blog.

It’s a good business decision imho, because in the end visitors are what matter and you want visitors. I don’t believe in commenting just for the sake of it but when google announced their new nofollow tag I was pissed. Why? Because I’m also a blog owner and nofollow in links means less visitor and less visitors means less ad clicks :(

I’ve been researching the benefits of comment and keywords luv… and overall it’s quite positive. Although an extra increase in spam. I’ll be adding them to my blog as well.
