What the hell happened to seohorror.com
Posted by: | CommentsI know a lot of confusing stuff happened lately. First, I didn’t write as much as I used to be, then I changed the look of seohorror.com and now it’s all getting redirected to frogstr.com with another new look. What’s happening?
The vision
First of all, it turned out to be harder than I thought to write everyday about “How NOT to make money online” on seohorror.com. The blog turned into a more general blog about web, marketing and seo. I just felt like giving advices about anything related to web in general and the name SEO Horror was kind of confusing for that reason. I reached a point where I had to take a decision: either continue with SEO Horror or go with a more general blog with a more general name to be able to reach more people and grow bigger. You see, the future of SEO is uncertain as search engines are getting smarter and smarter, but the future of web doesn’t raise any questions. By taking a decision now before it’s too late, I can ensure that the blog will be able to grow without any constraints.
Being like everyone else
I also felt the blog SEO Horror was getting more and more like every other “Make money online” blog and I hated that. I like to go personal and be a little unique. While my approach was different than most “Make money online”, I feel that I have a better future with general web, marketing and seo advices. You know, I can concentrate about what I’m good at and what I like instead of trying to be someone I’m not in an Internet Marketing niche.
Nothing will change
For you guys, not much will change, SEO Horror was already a web blog and not really a hardcore seo blog.
frogstr, why?
I just think it sounds good. 
Not many 7 letter domains remaining…

New template…
Posted by: | CommentsI changed the template on the site today and I think I like it Seriously, I wanted to go a little more unique as the old theme by Unique Blog Design is used all around the place on ‘Make Money Online’ blogs. There is still a lot of stuff to tweak and I want to improve the top banner to be a little more attractive…looks a little empty with just the logo on white background.

Some 2,500 lines of code later
Posted by: | CommentsWow, I’ve been in “coding monkey” mode for the past couple of days. I was a little less active in the community but I want you to know it’s for a good reason. I’m currently working on a project that will help every single one of you by making your link building a lot easier. It will probably be the best thing since sliced bread…
I don’t want to say too much about it until it’s done for reasons I’m sure you understand. I would estimate the project being 50% done, but the hardest part is over. With “hardest part”, I mean the project is mostly 75% feature complete, now I just need to test everything, add some more features, make sure the application is secure and also work on the design. It’s a little easier but it will still take some time.
The past week was really quiet for me so I had plenty of time to work on this project, but it’ll be a different situation in the next weeks so unfortunately, I probably won’t be able to do as much. Anyway, that being said, I think I will be able to release this little gem by the end of August/beginning of September!
Sorry if I can’t tell you more, it’s my little top secret project for now. At least you know that if I’m not posting 3 articles per day it’s for a reason!
First post, introduction and vision
Posted by: | CommentsFor my first post on SEO Horror, I want to briefly introduce myself and also define my vision with SEO Horror. At this time, the SEO/Internet marketing business is saturated with thousand of blogs, so why a new SEO blog? Don’t we have enough of johnchow.com, johncow.com and shoemoney.com? Well, I totally respect these blogs and read them once in a while but I must admit I’m really sick of reading about the same subject over and over again. How many times have you read a post titled “How to make money online easy?”, “10 steps to generate traffic”, “10 steps to generate thousands of backlink”, “Earn 100$ in your first month!”, etc. There’s no secret to making money online unfortunately and I’m afraid that what might work very well for me might not work for you. There’s also the fact that the best SEO tips are usually kept secret, which I’m sure you understand why. So where am I going? I don’t want to fall in the “How to make money online” blog category, I prefer to see it as “How NOT to make money online”.
So why “How not to make money online”? Well, there’s absolutely no unique recipe to make money online and if there was, everybody would be rich. Also, I can’t tell you what is going to work in the next month or year, the web is about experimenting new things and finding what works for you. So my point is that nobody can tell you how to make money online, but I can certainly tell you how NOT to make money online! As there are no recipe for a successful website, there is definitely a recipe for a NOT successful website. What are the common mistakes? What to avoid? What not to do, etc. These are the subjects this blog will focus on. By knowing what not to do, you minimize your chance of making important mistakes and maximize your chances of doing the right things.
So who am I? I’m a computer engineer with a strong passion for web development, SEO and internet marketing. I’ve launched websites ranging from simple personnal websites to full enterprise solutions. With this blog, I want to share my passion with web development and also use my experience to help people avoid the common mistakes and maximize their chances of making money online.
