Some 2,500 lines of code later

Wow, I’ve been in “coding monkey” mode for the past couple of days. I was a little less active in the community but I want you to know it’s for a good reason. I’m currently working on a project that will help every single one of you by making your link building a lot easier. It will probably be the best thing since sliced bread… ;)

I don’t want to say too much about it until it’s done for reasons I’m sure you understand. I would estimate the project being 50% done, but the hardest part is over. With “hardest part”, I mean the project is mostly 75% feature complete, now I just need to test everything, add some more features, make sure the application is secure and also work on the design. It’s a little easier but it will still take some time.

The past week was really quiet for me so I had plenty of time to work on this project, but it’ll be a different situation in the next weeks so unfortunately, I probably won’t be able to do as much. Anyway, that being said, I think I will be able to release this little gem by the end of August/beginning of September!

Sorry if I can’t tell you more, it’s my little top secret project for now. At least you know that if I’m not posting 3 articles per day it’s for a reason! ;)

    Interesting you have got me intrigued now - what language are you using for coding - I have been trying to learn php for a while now and slowly getting the hang of doing some of the more basic tasks!

    Cool man, I can’t wait to see what sneaky little scheme you’ve cooked up to share with the rest of the blogsphere. I’m pretty sure it will be pretty cool!

    @olly: I’m using php to build the website! I also like ASP(Microsoft .NET), but unfortunately hosting cost a little more because it has to be hosted on a Windows server and using AJAX with ASP isn’t top-notch yet. Anyway, I like php ;)

    @JK: Yep, it should be pretty useful…I hope so! ;)

    I have to pick up some language for web… I am decent in html/css (terrible in design but can edit and twek) but I am clueless in anything more dynamic. Maybe some perl experience but even that was for interface automation in 3d modeling - skills not exactly easily transferable to web. :)

    Need to read something on php probably (wordpress). And I am behind schedule on learning C++ (again). And I need to update some of my AutoIt utilities.

    Programming sucks [you in]. :)

    php is definitely the language of choice for web right now because it’s the most widely used in the community. It’s also very useful for blogging because that’s what Wordpress use!

    Hm, cool man! I’m sure, you it will be amazing!
    Will it be open source? If you need a hand for the graphics, let me know! Cheers!

    @zk: Thanks for your support!

    @Adam: It won’t be open source, but it will be free. By that I mean it’s a web application everybody will be able to use but only from this website. Making it open source and allowing everybody to install it on their server won’t solve the problem I’m trying to solve…It has to be centralized. I’ll let you know if I need any help for the graphics, thanks! ;)

    It always seem to be the last 10% of development that takes 90% of the time, eh? :-) Anyway, I’m also looking forward to what you have been working on… Wonder what it will be.. I’ve been working on a centralized solution also for Wordpress blogs, and its also SO close.. I’m in the 10/90 phase as well :-)
